Calvary Athletics Overview
CSH offers students an active interscholastic sports program, the goal of which is to provide students with opportunities to learn major lessons in character (self-discipline, commitment, fairness, etc.) as well as to be a vehicle for interaction and testimony to other students & schools. Athletics also provides a wholesome release of youthful energy.
We are a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) and we compete in the Alliance league.
For students interested in sports, we have soccer for boys in the fall, basketball in the winter and baseball in the spring. For girls, there is volleyball in the fall, basketball in the winter, and soccer in the spring.
Calvary Sports Web site
Our Calvary Sports web site contains much more detail about our athletic program. Though most information there would mainly be of interest to those already enrolled at our school (game schedules, etc), prospective parents should especially check out the Calvary Difference (on our sports site) - how our athletic program is different from what other schools offer.
Below the following video is a brief overview of our atheltic program's discipleship emphasis, eligibility requirements and emphasis on sportsmanship.

Discipleship Emphasis
Coaches are stewards. They have been divinely placed in the coaching ministry to meet the spiritual, mental, and physical needs of the athlete. We want to teach Calvary athletes to serve and lead in a way that honors Christ. We want our athletes to possess positive Christ-like character qualities, and to express them openly through athletics. We are most interested in building external values in our athletes, and therefore we stress attitudes and actions in relation to God’s Word.
Eligibility
Our eligibility policy has been developed to help insure academic achievement does not suffer as a result of their involvement in co-curricular activities. Eligibility will be guided by certain criteria pertaining to academic achievement, class conduct, and effort/attitude. It is important that students and parents understand that the purpose of these guidelines is not disciplinary.
Sportsmanship
All our school family - parents, staff, and students - are encouraged to come and cheer for our teams in competitions. Spectators are asked to remember that good sportsmanship on the part of fans enhances our testimony as a Christian school, while poor sportsmanship sets a negative example for our children and harms our witness to the community. We should set a high standard so that the Lord may be truly glorified in all we do.
